So I have been applying the modes by tacking a jam track in a particular key, and ripping some fun solo's, and using each position as the respected mode applys. Starting with the major, up to the Dorian, back down to the Aeolian, to the mixolydian, and thats what I have been jamming on in D for the past few days. It sounds good.

Anyone else have other ways the practice the modes, with real life application, or fun situations?:happy

Thats cool :dude: When i solo I dont usually play one mode but i've kinda come up with this hybrid scale using like the normal minor penatonic and a harmoninc minor and a mix of dorian. Though one doesnt work for everything so you have to try different ones. Fun stuff.

Nice lesson Mr. wein! Puts modes into the right perspective...for me anyway.
