Let's post your favourite song lyric lines in this thread. They can be funny, meaningful, meaningless, serious, happy, sad, whatever, but they should be memorable.

Here's my pick:

There's a pulse in the new-born sun;
A beat in the heat of noon;
There's a song as the day grows long,
And a tempo in the tides of the moon.
It's all around us and it's everywhere,
And it's deeper than Royal blue.
And it feels so real you can feel the feeling!
And that's The Majesty Of Rock!
The fantasy of Roll!
The ticking of the clock,
The wailing of the soul!
The prisoner in the dock,
The digger in the hole,
We're in this together...and ever...
In the shade of a jungle glade,
Or the rush of the crushing street,
On the plain, on the foamy main,
You can never escape from the beat.
It's in the mud and it's in your blood
And it's conquest is complete.
And all that you can do is just surrender.
To the Majesty of Rock!
The Pageantry of Roll!
The crowing of the cock,
The running of the foal!
The shepherd with his flock,
The miner with his coal,
We're in this together...and ever...
When we die, do we haunt the sky?
Do we lurk in the murk of the seas?
What then? Are we born again?
Just to sit asking questions like these?
I know, for I told me so,
And I'm sure each of you quite agrees:
The more it stays the same, the less it changes!
And that's The Majesty Of Rock!
The Mystery of Roll!
The darning of the sock,
The scoring of the goal!
The farmer takes a wife
The barber takes a pole.
We're in this together...and ever...

I just had to include the lyrics for the whole song, because of its pure awesomeness.

"You can look at the menu, but you just can't eat,
You can feel the cushion, but you can't have a seat,
You can dip your foot in the pool, but you can't have a swim,
You can feel the punishment, but you can't commit the sin,
...No one, no one, no one ever is to blame"

No One Is To Blame, Howard Jones - 1986

Robert, when I saw the subject, that is the song that immediately popped in my head. The barber line is my favorite.

In reality I'd probably have to choose some Iron Maiden lyrics either "Wasted Years" or "Infinite Dreams." "Wasted Years" because I've always had the tendency to look for something else instead of enjoying where I am and what I've got. "Infinite Dreams" because it pictures the spiritual struggle that everybody has and that I can help people solve.

She was a fine girl
She could get down wit de get down
All de way down
She do yer laundry
She change a tire
Chop a little wood for de fire
Poke it around...if it died down

Oh yeah
She was a fine girl
She go up in the mornin'
She go down in the evenin'...all de way down
She do the dishes
If you wishes
Silverware too
Make it look brand new...when she get through
Oh yeah
She was a fine girl
Outa this world

Oh yeah
She was a fine girl
With a lovely smile
With a bucket on her head
Fulla water from de well
She could run a mile
Oh yeah
She wouldn't spill a drop
It'd stay on top
Her head was kinda flat
But her hair covered that
She was a fine girl
Didn't need no school
She was built like a mule
With a thong sandal
Well, wasn't no kinda job she could not handle
She could get down...wit de get down
All de way down
We need some more like dat in dis kinda town...

He pushed me 'round
now I'm drawin' the line
He lived his life
now I'm gonna go live mine
I'm sick on wastin' my time
Well now I've been good for way too long

Found my red dress and I'm gonna throw it on
I've got nothin' to lose and nothin' to gain
'Bout to get too far gone

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition
Need a little but more of my tweleve ounce nutrition
One more helpin' of what I've been havin'
I'm takin' my turn on the sin wagon

On a mission to make something happen
Feel like Delilah lookin' for Samson
Do a little mattress dancin'
That's right I said mattress dancin'

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition
Need a little bit more
of what I've been missin'
I don't know where I'll be crashin'
But I'm arrivin' on a sin wagon

When it's my turn to march up to old glory
I'm gonna have one hell of a story
That's if he forgives me

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition
Need a little bit more of that sweet salvation
They may take me
with my feel draggin'
But I'll fly away on a sin wagon
