Howdy.

Just got a new Memphis block 335. I'm picking over options for strap locks. I have a trusty set of Dunlop flush mount ones wich I'm going to rip off another axe, but I'm wondering - if I drill into the 335's neck join, am I going to experience some loss in sound quality?

I guess I'm looking for locks that are permanent, stable and flush. I have a set of Dunlops on a Tele and I love 'em. I don't mind the thought of drilling into the 335. It's going nowhere. But if I don't have to . . . then I won't.
But I'm not into those plastic things unless anyone has heard of smaller ones.

I looked at a photo of Jimmy Page from the 70's the other day - and I haven't been able to find it again - but it looks like he has some sort of flush thing going on, the size of a one cent piece. Any ideas?

I'm sorry I don't have any experience with Dumlops, but I do with Schaller strap locks. I love 'em because:

They do not require drilling and fit into a standard hole.
You can still use the guitar with a strap that does not have the locking mechanism.
They NEVER let go.Just about every electric guitar I own has a set of Pro line strap locks and I cannot recommend them enough. :)

These average 4 out of 5 stars with 121 reviews currently on MF. Check it out for yourself here (http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Schaller-Guitar-Strap-Locks-and-Buttons-Pair-?sku=360389&src=3WFRWXX&ZYXSEM=0&CAWELAID=33305084).
