I haven't even shared this with the folks on my Facebook, so please.. feel special...

A sneak peek of the website for my new blues project that's been struggling, but finally getting somewhere now that we lost our bassist... yeah, I know that sounds backwards, but.. trust me.

Anyways.. constructive criticism is welcome... and even though I've been over the site a few dozen times, there may still be typos and such.. would appreciate anyone pointing them out.

http://doubletapblues.com/index.php

(Please note... if you go to http://doubletapblues.com/ you will be stuck at the "Coming soon..." splash page... there MUST be the /index.php at the end.)

PS. If you download and install this file (http://doubletapblues.com/HARD_ROCK.ttf), the h1 headers will display properly. :-)

Add a "META-REFRESH" tag to this page to re-direct to the index.php. See here for details: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meta_refresh

A search engine might grab the root URL so you need a way to get to the main site.

@bc.. thanks! And the splash page is not linked on purpose.. don't want anyone getting into the site just yet... when I'm ready to put the site live, I delete the index.html file and voila! It's live. :-)

Oh, I see. The site looks great. I like the bios, especially the "before global warming was invented" line. Very funny (and true, too). :dude

typo (I think) on the "meet the band' page
....abuses Ludwigs and Zildians.

shouldn't that be Zildjians? Unless its another brand...

Otherwise great look for the site!

What with your penchant for the undead and all, would the name "DoubleTap" have been in any way inspired by Rule #2?

I can play the fark out of a bass, so I'm in, right?

The commute's gonna be a beeeyotch. Y'all will have to pay for the gas. And the beer.

Nice site, MSM!!!!!

Very nice site. It looks great, has a nice layout, and navigation is easy and functions well... All the things ya gotta have. You've done a great job, MSM!
Time for you to go live and share it with your peep's!

I've built a few sites, like my old now defunct racing team's http://www.teamtilsonhomes.com/ so I know how hard it can be to make everything look and work just right.

Thanks for all the kudos.. integrating that photo gallery was a b*tch of enormous proportions... I can read PHP and understand what it's doing, but can't really program it from scratch, outside of "include" statements. :-)

@Ch0 - While not directly inspired by Rule #2, that was a nice bonus. Actually, I was listening to the radio on my way to class and ZZ Top's "Doubleback" came on. I started thinking "Doubleback" was a cool name and might be a nice tip o' the hat from the little ol' blues band in Aroostook County to the little ol' blues band in Texas, when "DOUBLETAP" popped into my head. I immediately texted the woman and my drummer with the idea, and it was unanimous.

Of course now, we'll have to shake the "Doubletap they don't come back" image to get gigs.. ;-)

@SVL.. Yeah, I know.. BUT... when we jammed at the Coffeehouse the other weekend, I got some uber-disapproving looks from one of the other guitarists who sometimes plays there. Blues-snob. If you're not playing a Strat through a Tubescreamer into a Fender amph, you're not playing blues. That was my little "f*ck you" to him. ;-)

@Kat.. you're in.. you have to pay your own gas... at least until my private jet gets out of the shop. ;-)

@Tig.. I dig that site. You did a great job (easy to navigate, layout, etc.), but also in color selections... every color you used on that site is somewhere in the header image. :-)
