Lets put some of this stuff into this thread here. Biggest, tallest, fastest, farest, ect.
I'd like to start with the tallest man, named Robert Wadlow, who has ever lived. 2,72m = 8,92 foot.

Here's a really cool video about the new Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy, which basically is an infrared telescope that is housed in a 747. It will fly at 40,000 feet, above the humidity and other problems that plague ground based telescopes. They plan on using it for almost 20 years!
