Stuff you forgot you liked?

earlier today i remembered i liked linkin park after i listened to a collaboration between Static-X, Mike Shinoda (LP) and the X-Ecutioners (who i liked anyway).

and while listening to linkin park i randomly remembered to get some alien ant farm stuff.

is this just me or does everyone randomly remember stuff they like(ed)?

Constantly. Just the other day it occurred to me to find what was the band or singer that made a couple of real nice pop tunes I liked and it took me a good while of searching the iPod to find it: New Radicals. And yeah, they had a couple of excellent pop songs I still like.

Happened to me twice in the past weeks. First was Lynyrd Skynyrd's "One more from the road". My cousin and I listened to it throughout the whole summer of 92 in the cartape, I have spent the entire summer in Upstate New York. Just recently, I rediscovered the cd I bought years later and two weeks ago I listened to it with my whole concentration. I remembered I liked it a lot and still do. The other album was the BLACK album by Metallica. Yes, it's in my car again! Heard some Metallica Black album tune on TV, and there you go....

Unfortunately, I also rediscovered my love for crunchy peanut butter with marshmallow fluff....:happy

3 Guess Who albums always remind me of how good they were. I don't like a real stead diet of The Guess Who but every time I hear the "Canned Wheat," "American Woman," and "So Long Bannatyne" albums I think "wow, what a great band."

About 6 months ago it was lots of Euro-prog like PFM, Banco, Ange etc. Recently I've been getting back into Les Negresses Vertes, Focus and French folk singer Maxime Le Forestier. Cheap Trick is a band that gets dismissed too easily. Until I saw them play 2 years ago, I thought they were all washed up, but catching them live, I found they are still incredible and relevant. Even a non-fan can walk away at the end of their show satisfied.

I always wanted more guitar work and solos from Rick Nielsen, and found this live clip from 1989. I'll start it where it gets interesting...

Not by me they don't. Rockford is easily in the top 3 best of all their albums and that came out 4 years ago. Great stuff. Back in the 70s and early 80s I was covering their early material and didn't realize they were still playing and recording until I discovered 1994's "Woke Up With A Monster." Another good album as well. Glad you brought them up. They still rock.:dude
