Every six months or so, I say to self, need to get a GPS for the car... and never do!

Anybody here has a good handle of what's going on in mid-grade consumer GPSs?
Note that there are many features I do not need like MP3s, photos, live traffic...

I've had a couple hand held units, but never had a vehicle unit until recently (last night)

I picked up up a Garmin 765t and have had very little time to use it, but so far it seems more than enough for what I want it to do. The one feature that I do like is that you can use it with your phone for hands free use while driving (bluetooth) I've used it a few times for that, and the sound quality is pretty decent. It isn't an expensive voice activated model, but I'm having fun with it.

Good luck with your search!

Hmm... must be really useful "where the streets have no name.."!

Thanks for your comments, I will give more weigh to bluetooth then.

My suggestion would be to take a good look at the latest models available and be selective by reading reviews, I don't like to rely solely on GPS directions as some software is very far behind. I use GPS Global position gear daily and it is remarkable at advanced it is getting.
