I do well with sampling and creating loops on the laptop. With an actual drum kit, I could, maybe, keep a VERY slow 4/4 for about a minute or two.

I bought a kit last year. I'm taking a few lessons now, every other week. I'm having a ball ~

And uh, yes, I suck ~~~ But did I say I was having a ball?
If nothing else, it makes life easier for a drummer if I have a few guys over to play. I got a bass 2 years ago too, so guys can travel light and just show up and play. I'm looking for an inexpensive keyboard module I can use with my midi-controller so I can try and start attracting a keyboard player. If anyone has one they would like to sell, let me know ~

That's because, unlike a real drummer, you only have to punch the instructions in once ;)

I dont get to play drums too often but I have a natural talent for them. I can play most rhythms and time signatures and I can play a lot of different fill ins. IM just a bit sloppy from not practicing

You don't even need a kit to be a drummer.

Heh, they reminded me of the 60s when I was in a band playing instrumentals. My friend plays the drums quite good and he had a groove for Wipe Out.

I liked that drummer, ridiculous as he acts. He has that alternate reality going on while he plays a good groove. Can't take ourselves too seriously you know.

I played drums for years before switching to guitar. This vid by Carl Palmer is great, I always get a kick out of it. If you don't want to go through the whole thing, check out the last 1/4 or so.
