Mahut and Isner have played over 9 hours... new record! :dance

95 aces by Mahut the Frenchman! :french Insane. The previous record was 50 aces in a game...

But at 59-59, they packing it in, to the crowd's disappointment. I guess they will continue in the morning?

Unreal though, to play a tennis match over 9 friggin' hours?! :running

I'm not much for tennis, but this was a cool moment, make that a loooong moment, in sports.

The first-round marathon took 11 hours, 5 minutes over three days, lasting so long it was suspended because of darkness -- two nights in a row. Play resumed Thursday at 59-all before an overflow crowd on cozy Court 18 and continued for 20 games and 65 minutes before Isner won.
The score that broke the scoreboard at one point: 6-4, 3-6, 6-7 (7), 7-6 (3), 70-68.

Isner is really tall, at 6' 9" (over 205 cm).

I wish I could have watched it...

For my wife Wimbledon is like the Super Bowl, World Series, NBA Final, and The World Cup all rolled into one. She'll be glued to the TV set all day tomorrow.
