Good question man. It's happening in like two days if I'm not mistaken.
Hope they make a DVD, I have the first two outstanding DVD's.
The Allman Brothers are going to be there, by the way.

Crossroads is Saturday. I'm gonna be there. First time in my life sitting at a computer when the tix went on sale ever worked for me. I pushed enter at the stroke of 10, and got two. I can't wait.
I have NO idea about televising it. There are a few websites for it, perhaps one has that info. I'll definately have my camera with me, I hope to get a few worthy shots, which I'll share.

Great lineup. Too bad about ABB pulling out. Who's health emergency caused it? Hope Greg, Butch and Jaimo are all OK.

Gregg has Hepatitis C. He had his Liver replaced Wednesday. He's expected to be back at it before long.

What a day. Never a drop of rain. Hot, but hey, it's June.
Bill Murray made a great MC
Suprises....
Gary Clark Jr, tore it UP
Steve Winwood can flat out play guitar...Dear Mr Fantasy was unreal
John Mayer....no pretty boy flash, just guitar God licks
Disappointments (ludicrous on a day like this, but if I'm gonna critique)
BB King, talk less, play guitar more
Jonny Winter, literally could hardly breathe, visibly, This was just too much for him
More Hildalgo and Rojas...they've earned it.
Citizen Cope? Really?
here's a few shots....

It's cool and all but it's always the same people. It would be nice if there were other guitar greats once in a while. Just saying.

Hey, great pix. Thanks a lot for sharing. Mucho jealous. How were Derek and Warren? Can't wait for the DVD. I'll take lots more of the same with this crew.

I would love to see Mayer in Trio format live with those two. They are so good together. How did Keb do? I was very favorably impressed by his a couple years ago when he "opened" for Bonnie Raitt here in SV. He played mostly electric (I think on that red one he is holding in the pic mostly) and really ripped it up with a more aggressive, less adult contemporary radio friendly tone and approach that I quite liked. I hope he gave you some of the same.
I am interested in seeing Bramhall and Bonamassa some day too. It would be really cool to see Jeff Beck too. Thanks for the pics and report!

I completely agree. Couple of notes in that regard, he(EC) calls it a guitar festival, not a blues festival, although it has a decidedly blues slant, which is cool. In an attempt to broaden it a bit, he had a Jazz guy, couple folkies, couple country twangers, but more of a token nod than anything else. Man, there are so many great guitarists out there that we've never heard of, it would be cool to sprinkle this event with some of them. Even some well known guys that don't seem to have a crack at it. Think of all those Candy Rat acoustic dudes who could leave that assembly slack jawed. Frisell? How many also rans in Nashville could school some of these cats? Taking nothing from the talent here. They are top notch...but to your point... Ayuh.
Keb Mo was awesome. His Resonator set with Grossman was great, and he definately held court with his Hamer as well.
That Mayer Trio smoked. Don't know if that will be happening much, but if it does, check it out. A true Trio. Sure , Mayer has the star power, but they were well mixed, even. Jordon is a hammer.
Feel like Dick Vitale throwing all these superlatives around, but it was a good day. Such professionalism. I'm a tavern guy. I like to see bands when I can slap 'em on the shoulder after the set and tell them I appreciate them layin' it out for a couple hours. I gave up on the arena rock scene many many years ago. There were elements of that for sure, but to see such pros trading licks and literally having a blast was very very cool. Glad I went

They totally should throw Setzer in. That guy is a guitar god in his own right, and in his own way. Plus, he would shake things up a bit. That is a good call! :AOK
