I was looking on youtube for a certain live Hendrix cover by Chris Duarte and ran across some vids done by a guy going by the name "Handtricks" or "Handtriks". I might be late to the table on this but I had not heard of this guy or seen anything posted here about him. I wanted to pass it on to any of you who might not have heard this guy either. He's got covers and original compositions. This guy oozes Jimi vibe. It seems like he really gets it. Not just copies the style like I try to do. Check it out!

Didn't know him. What I see is pure dedication. This guy must have been spending his entire "guitar-life" playing Jimi and copying every little facette of his playing.

You know what....time to practice and play some good ole Jimi songs again ;)

Thanks for posting.

Sure. Glad to pass it on to someone who appreciates hearing it. Makes me want to dig the old strat out of the mothballs and blow the dust off her. Only bad thing about getting inspired to work on the Hendrix chops again is the fact I will have to get some kind of univibe effect and a wah. I have niether at the moment and alot of my favorite live Hendrix stuff uses them. Just when I thought I was where I wanted to be with guitars and equipment something else to cause GAS. Does that ever end? LOL . Here we go again..Univibes aren't cheap:thwap

I enjoyed listening to him playing All Along The Watchtower - and that slo-mo is a great touch for guitarists wanting to learn the licks.

Yeah, I forgot to mention the fretboard close ups in the studio videos. That's what made me think of posting those videos here. I seem to have ADHD when it comes down to me sitting down with Tab and my guitar. I usually use tab as a referrence to figure out parts I can't hear or figure out the position to when I'm trying to learn the parts from a CD. When I can watch someone play it while listening my learning curve jumps x10.
BTW I learned a little more about this guy posting videos with the name Handtricks. His actual name is Angel Recca. He did do some gigs with Buddy Miles. I have a CD from the late 80s or early 90s when Buddy was doing a Hendrix tribute thing called EXP. It was another guy playing guitar I thought. He was from Chicago and had a more contemporary sound. I need to find that CD though because I'm not positive about that. The name sounds real familiar.
