LOL yeah, it's been gaining in popularity of late. Along with wife-carrying races etc...I guess Finns are nuts about coming up with crazy ideas and turning them into a fad, races and such. In the summer you can find all kinds of silly games and happenings, festivals in Finnish small towns, like selecting the 'village idiot' of the year, who has the biggest feet, miniature ski jumping races in the summer, bikini beach volley in the town square, etc. etc...but this swamp football seems to have indeed gotten pretty big already.

Maybe it's the long quiet and dark winter that makes people go crazy about such stuff when the summer finally comes...
