I'm sure everyone has their dream rig, yet few can afford it. But, on the subject of low wattage combo amps. What's your favorite?
Myself, it took me months to pick out my upgrade from a Fender Frontman 25.
It had to be tube, and had to be less than my mortgage payment. I ended up choosing the 15w Fender Super Champ XD. All tube, not so loud I get the cops beatin down my door, and is loaded with effects and voices. I ended up with (for my tastes) 6 new amps and 4 new pedals.
Now, that being said. None of the "voices" are perfect but they do great for the small clubs I play, and they are digital, not analog effects, (I prefer real spring reverb, not modeled) but it does its job. Also drives my homemade 2 x 12 cab just fine for the rare small hall or outdoor show. Anything bigger, I have just miked into the FOH and I'm good enough. I gig as a hobby, not for a living, just for a reference here.
I'm really interested in what other player use, as I am always on the lookout for another piece to my gear pie. :pancake
