Never having had any lessons, I'm in the dark when it comes to finger excersizes or drills except that I feel I should be doing some.
Any suggestions or help here would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,

Why do you feel you should be doing exercises or drills? I recommend trying to play musical ideas first and foremost. You can also practice playing notes in an order you normally don't. You then force you fingers to learn new "paths" and your licks and ideas will sound different.

Of course, technique practice has its virtues too, but I'd put learning musical ideas, licks, songs, scales, etc, first. Technique will then follow.

Just my 2 "Swedish Ă–ren"!

Thanks Robert!
I like your method much better than the thought of boring, repetitious drills.

I think it depends on what you want to play at the end of the day. I used to spend quite a bit of time doing similar exercises to the clip below. But back then all I wanted to do is shred! :R

Thanks Lev
I checked out the video and saved it, and as usual for me, feel there is some good advice there and will be working some of it into my practice. Seeing your post playin "in the closet" helped confirm that. Very sweet playin.

I found this book after it was highly recommended by a few of my friends ...

Ten Minute Guitar Workout (http://www.amazon.com/Minute-Guitar-Workout-David-Mead/dp/1860742394/sr=8-1/qid=1161668080/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-2300368-6483333?ie=UTF8&s=books)

Lots of good exercises and playing tips too ...

Rote finger exercises are OK, but get boring rather quickly unless you are very driven. Just play stuff that you like. It's always fun and you'll also learn. It's a natural progession.
