For those of you that install your own Strat pickups.....

Do you trim your pickup wires to fit within the distance from your pickup to the switch and ground pot for each Strat pup? Or do you leave them all long and fold them nice and neat to tuck them into the control cavity in case you want to sell them later or something. Or switch them around. What do you guys do?

Mine are all the original length and I've read arguments over how it doesn't make that big of a deal to leave them long and other arguments over how long wires steal signal strength etc. What do you say?

I leave mine long and fold and tie them when the pickups are in. It helps to have all the wire when you start trading / selling pickups.

Ditto. It's tough to make 'em longer again, once you cut 'em!!

I hear no ill effects from the practice....
