Does anyone have any good music download sites for GP6?

Ummm... www.guitar-pro.com? That's where I got GP5...reminds me I need to upgrade! Thanks.

Try tuxguitar...it reads GP files and protab. And it's free for a legit version.

Try Google!

There's tons. For example, if you want Eric Clapton tunes -
http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=guitar+pro+eric+clapton

Usually Ultimate-Guitar has lots. On this page http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/eric_clapton_tabs.htm you see the right column indicates if it Guitar Pro, Tabs or whatever. Click on the ones that have Guitar Pro. Then at the bottom of the page, there's a DOWNLOAD button.

Voila!

Oh my bad...I thought we was asking about pirating the software...

As for tabs, I have a collection of 50,000 guitar pro tabs. Feel free to make a request :)

I second that. It really is a great program, well worth the money. I'm using it on my MacBook as well as on my Ubuntu desktop -- both work fantastic.

I have a .rar file, it's 114MB, and has ~50,000 Guitar Pro files. I've set up a sharefile account. If anyone wants it, PM me here, and I'll give you details regarding login to download it.

I've found various tabs for guitar pro and/or power tab throughout the years. What's the practical difference between these two programs (other than cost)? And yes, I know the file formats are different, but I'm talking more from a usability standpoint.

I suppose I'm curious just because I head Guitar Pro mentioned a lot, and no peeps about Power Tab. The songs available for them seem to be roughly equal at places like ultimate-guitar.

Eric, you should try the GP 6 demo. It has a much nicer interface, that is easier to use, and less buggy. The functionality has been improved as well, so the whole product is overall better than before.

PowerTab is very outdated in comparison.

Hmm. I was going to say that since I'm on Linux it's moot anyway, but I see they do have a version for Linux.

I've been doing all right with Tuxguitar -- no complaints -- but I'll consider it. What does Guitar Pro have/do that makes the others outdated? Just a better interface or what?

Eric, the easiest answer to that question is for you to go here -

Looks kind of interesting for the looper, scale generators, and view options, but probably not enough for me to bother with it right now. I generally just use tuxguitar to read tabs, and it works great for that.

Also, promo videos always leave me questioning the validity of their claims, which is why I was looking for first-hand GP vs. PT experience.

Anyway, looks like a cool program, just not something I'd use much right now.

Eric nabbed my Guitar Pro Collection of 52k tabs...but thus far, nobody else has PM'd me for the secret password.

Eric,

They have a free demo that you can download. Give it a try. Of course, if tuxguitar does it for you, that's cool but the demo is what made me buy it.

Commodore 64, I love the name. It brings back memories of my childhood. lol

I'm interested to see some more sites as well. I have some rar files I got that have a bunch of tabs in them. I use Tux Guitar too.
