I just purchased a new American standard and noticed the neck plate has a fifth hole with no screw, what is this hole for, maybe a strap button?

The plate is labelled "Fender CORONA, CALIFORNIA" if that helps.

Apologies if this is a simple question, I only just started playing a few weeks ago and this is my first Fender, I love it so much. :)

I managed to find this is for the neck tilt adjustment, discovered this by looking up neck plate parts on the fender website :)

Go carefully with Microtilt adjusters. You need to loosen the neck bolts a little before making any changes. If in doubt, give it to a pro.
The truss rod key you should have got in the case fits the adjuster

@markb, thank you. Yes I will not be touching the tilt or truss adjustments myself, that will be for a professional to adjust.
