I have an avocado Silvertone Danelectro U3 that I have had for many years. The knobs are long gone. What are the correct knobs for the guitar and how can I get them?

Thanks, Sevieman

i bought a second hand U2 a little while back and immediately looked to upgrade certain parts. The pots you are looking for (if it's anything like my U2) will be the "concentric stacked pot" (towards the bottom of the page) here is the best site for it: http://www.danguitars.com/PARTS.html it's all genuine parts and they say they'll ship international so wherever you are it's all good! If that doesn't suffice jjust do a quick google search for danelectro parts and see if you can nick cheaper parts from eBay or something like that! good luck.

thanks, but I am not looking for the pots. Just the knobs. I am looking to find correct knobs for a '58 or '59 U3. Are the tops round or are they pointed? Are they two colors or both the same. If 2, which color is the top one and which is the bottom?

Hard to find info on this for some reason.
Thanks,
Sevieman

According to this photo:

your guitar should have a round bottom knob and quite a sharp top knob. Can't really tell what order the colours should be in since i had a bit of trouble finding a picture of the guitar in the avocado paint job.
all i can find, however, are the stacked knobs that are both round. if you want those, try allparts.

just had a brainwave. i think the knobs in that previous photo are the same as the knobs on the third reissue longhorn bass guitars (dead-on 58) so in theory the parts should exist. if you can find any stockist of danelectro parts perhaps mention the longhorn bass and you might get better results.
