One of the really cool things about parenthood, amongst a very long list, is the mutual love of music that parents and kids can share.
Obviously, the younger your kids are, the more one-way the exchange is. But as they get older, if you've invested the time and the passion to get them excited about music, they can begin to repay the favor.
Today my son hipped me to this:

That in itself is cool enough. But what pushed it over the top for me, is that he described the music for me before I listened to it, and the kid absolutely NAILED it. In a single sentence.
The kid's 13.
"It's like the Swaggerin' Growlers [Boston Irish/acoustic/punk band that Crash Pad played with], only less rock, and more Scottish." The band is actually from London, but have been very favorably received (I'm sure he did not know this) in Scotland:
