Im having a little issue. Recently I aquired a Randall RX120 HS, when I plug my distoration pedals(DS-1 and/or Digitech Metal Master) directly infront of my guitar the hum when I kick them on is considerable noiser than the amps own overdrive channel. Sincing adding a adapter the DS-1 is tolerable but the digitech is still annoying. I attempted to plug them into the FX loop but the volume is cut in half or more when I do that.

Is this something Im going to have to just deal with? Am I doing something wrong? Is there another pedal say a noise reducer or something that might help? This is my first HS, both of these pedals belonged to me when they was NIB and have been taken care of. But the biggest amp prior Ive ever heard them on was a Fender 212 100w combo, there was noise or hum but not like this.

Thanks

I'd recommend a Boss Noise Suppressor NS-2. Very useful if you like high-gain distortion pedals:

Thanks I'll check into one of those.
