We are having some GREAT fall weather. I went for a mountain bike ride on Friday and discovered a new to me but really amazing trail. It gained a lot of elevation and I wasn't sure where it was going to come out which had me a little worried because sundown was approaching. No worries though. I made it back before dark.

The peak on the horizon is Kinport Peak which is 3,000 feet to the top from the valley floor. This is the peak we climbed on foot on Sunday. Tough girls.

The drainages on the left and right are full of fabulous mountian biking

Geez Spud.....your girls are tough........might we expect to see them in the Olympics?? :poke Not to mention that a good, powerful set of legs will attract lots of "boy" attention in Jr and Sr High. So, maybe you wanna scale this back a bit? :poke Ya know.....to keep the cretins and Neanderthals away.

Just kidding pal......as Dad of a 23 yr old gorgeous daughter, been there-done that.

Now see, that looks like fun.

But you and those other Westerners going up cliffs and looking over precipices and stuff, that just ain't for me.

Awsome landscapes, there.

It took a flight from San Francisco to Boston to make me realize how much territory there is out there, the various features along the way, like mining pits, circle irrigation, dams, etc

I was so taken by the whole thing, I worked on sorting the landscape features I photographed on the flight with GoogleMap, and was able to locate placenames. I felt like a kid, back in geography class!
