Perfect Stranger

I was 18 when I attended this. It was 25 miles from my house. Supposedly
Jimi Hendrix's last live performance took place here. Seems like a lifetime ago...but I
remember it so well. The smell of pot, hash, hash oil, etc. was in the air. Cokes were
selling for $3 each, cigarettes were $1 each, a hamburger was $5 each, a hotdog
was $3....kinda like Disney World....or a pro sporting event now. Boobs as far as
the eye could see....and girls were just giving it away for the asking. Good times
....good times.....I miss those days so much. 300,000 people and you never saw
a fight.

Well, it'll live on in your memory Perfect Stranger. Just as it was. And you'll always be as young as you were then when you relive it in your mind.

I found out a long time ago that you can never go back. You can never catch that spirit, that feeling ever again. A time past is like a place in your life. It'll always be there, just as it was, but you can never go back to that place ever again...except in your mind.

Yeah you can never go back, and at least me...when I really look back objectively, I can't think of much anything being better in the past, instead it is all getting better, even globally and by most any standards.

Of course there are always regional setbacks and short-term slides to the opposite, but...the 70's were largely a much worse time than today is.

Think back a hundred years, life was pretty much hell compared to today. A few hundred years more...it was unbelievably tough, people died like flies, especially babies.

Yep, we have it better every day.

And especially music just keeps getting better :-) even Hendrix would be just another skilled youngster playing in a music store today...would hardly make the grade to fame. But of course it was rad back then.
