I voluntered to help a local musician who puts out this benefit concert every December. It is a clever setup actually: first half acoustic/folk, second half whole-hog rowdy R&R

I plan on working with flyers, and also lining up some bands, which will be a great way to get acquainted with the (great) local talent!

I am looking for ideas to add to the basic source of funds for the benefit, which is the door entry fee. For example:

- Clever ways to tap into local businesses to chip in/ donate?

- Original silent auction/raffle ideas you may have seen?
So far, I like "Win a dinner with your favorite local musician", mostly because I would love to do that, and some are quite interesting folks.

Raffle off an inexpensive electric guitar. Give it a good setup and let a good picker play it onstage. Even better if a local business will buy and donate it.
Good quality electrics are easy to come by nowadays, Classic Vibes come to mind.......
If the gathering is large enough and the raffle tickets are cheap enough, you can make some good money.
