Any other Mav fans out there? We don't talk a lot of country here, but these guys infuse it with texmex kinda feel, plus some boogie to boot. Here's a cool one our band is going to cover, subbing harp for the horn parts.

Oh yeah! They have a great sound. Lots of Tex-Mex and Cajun influences. You should have fun with those.

This is great! I am not that familiar with the Mavericks but I've heard a few of their tracks. The one really cool thing about Austin is that there are a lot of bands like this that kind of blur the lines between a few different styles. It's a fun place to go out and catch some local bands playing. When I lived there I couldn't get over the number of good bands playing around town.

Yeah, that is what I love about indie stuff. What are styles anyway? Who draws the dang lines? It's just music and expression for goodness sake! Blend away! Mix some jazz chords in next time.
