Hey folks
I've just bought a Ibanez AS120 semihollow, where the humbuckers have been replaced to something named:
"Woosung Chorus MFG/Korea"

I have never heard about them. Have you?
They sound ok, -dont have much to compare to tho.

Regards

Welcome! Cruise on over to "The Fret Players" section for a proper TheFret.net welcome.

I've never heard of the brand... They could be the name of the company that Ibanez uses to purchase pickups from for their Korean guitars.

Ultimately, it's all just wire wrapped around a magnet. There is no mojo to pickups, only the tones that they, the guitar, and amplifier produce. If it sounds good, it IS good, regardless of brand, IMO. Are you keeping them in or looking for a replacement?

Again, welcome, and post a pic of that AS!

Thanks Katastrophen

The pickups wasnt the the stock ones. The guy who owned the guitar before me had them replaced. The stock pups; super 58, did follow in the deal.
Im thinking about putting them back in, but have to listen some more to the woosung chorus pickups. I dont know how the Super 58 sounds like, and dont know if hey can make that old school blues/rock sound I like.
Changing pickups in a semihollow isnt the easiest thing in the world, so I have to be pretty sure, before I deside :).
Yesterday I tried to tigtened the jack input, which ended up with one of the wires snapped of. I guess the previous owner had tried to tigtened it to many times :spank. I hooked up the jack with a wire, but dropped it down hole :mad. After some digging and pulling I got it out and got the wire back on. It works fine now.
I also had to wind up the wires from the pickups, because the one who replaced the pups, just had cut of wires form the super 58, properbly for an easyer replacement (see picture)

What pickups could be great? Im thinking about the classic 57 or some seymor duncan, but its a jungle. And its like you say Katastrophe; "if it sounds good, it IS good, regardless of brand".

Sorry for thae bad english by the way ;)

I've never heard of them before, but here's their website (http://wscmusic.com/800/wscmusic.htm). To post pictures you'll need to put them on Picasa or something and then link them here.

Mighty nice guitar.

I have an Ibanez AS73 with stock pickups and they sound great and aren't going anywhere.

I know what you mean about replacing electronics on semihollows. I had the pots and pickups replaced on my Schecter C-1 E/A, taper pots and Seymour Duncan JB covered bridge pup and Seymour Duncan 59 covered neck. Great tone.

Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro covered pups might go nice in yours if you are going to upgrade. Or a Custom Custom in the bridge, also a great SD humbucker.

Have fun with that beautiful guitar.
