Strat Blender Wiring
Strat Blender Wiring is a unique and simple way to achieve multiple Strat pickup
configurations and tones without drilling holes for switches and push pull pots. It
uses a custom made CTS Blender Pot that acts as a True Bypass in the circuit
when turned completely clockwise. A regular pot wouldn’t work for this
application because you would still hear the other pickup bleed through. Here’s
how it works…
A Standard 5-Way Strat has 1 volume and 2 tones. The Blender wiring has 1
volume, 1 master tone, and a Blender pot. In the neck position you can blend the
bridge pickup in as much as you want. In the bridge position you can blend the
neck pickup in as much as you want. In positions 2 and 4 you can have all three
pickups on at once. The nicest part about it is the fact of it being so user friendly.
Everything else seems to be hard to use on the fly.
*Please Note: The Blender pot looks the same as the others and has the
part number: 2112367 stamped on the back.
The three black wires close together on the left are the pickup ground wires.

Cool, Robert. Thanks for posting! Looking forward to clips once it's installed.

I recently used a Bourns blender pot in a strat-style build. This pot has two
tiers of connectors which makes for a bit of wiring but it's cool being able to
access the new tones. You might also think about using 3 small SPDT switches
instead of the typical 5 way strat switch. This allows you to access all the
pickup combinations including all 3 at once. (I used to have problems switching
quickly on the 5 way and would miss the 2nd & 4th positions sometimes.) It
does require losing the 5 way switch and drilling pilot holes for the 3 new switches, but it's kinda unique looking once it's done.

I have my mojo kit here but I haven't installed it yet. I'm looking forward to trying this, once I find some time to install it.

I am putting it into my Mexican Squier, and I'm also putting in a set of Porter pickups - 50s model.

Robert,

This seems way cool When I add the Lace holy Grails to my Black no pick guard direct mounted pups strat this may not work for that axe since it has just a master volume and master tone knobs only or does that just mean adding push pull pot?

Don't now maxi, I'm no "electrifying wizard" like DVM, so I just go with the prewired kit, to make it easy for myself... ;)
