I went to the local used gear store to try out a Dillion 56 goldtop with 2 P-90's. I had high hopes to find that diamond in the rough.
Twas not to be - the tuners were downright terrible and the nut was coming off. Overall condition was not bad, but it wouldn't stay in tune and really just sounded bad.
Disappointed, I do a lap around the store looking for something else Les Paul'ish. Low and behold I see this sweet guitar - looks kinda old, but in excellent condition..don't recognize the brand: Electra. I was like "yea, I bet that's a good guitar NOT!". But since I had already played the Dillion I decided it couldn't hurt to take it down and get a look.
Bolt on neck, overall beautiful guitar with a nice finish and condition in general. Decided to try it out.
You know that feeling when you play something new and it just feels right, sounds right...it talks to you. That's what this guitar did. It played so well, so smooth. Some scratch in the pots, but I guess that's par for the course.
Bottom line - I had to have it. And buy it I did. Here she is - not sure of the model or year, but it's a player for sure. $300 - a bit high I think but it was just so right, I didn't even think about it. :dance
