Very interesting. I do like his lead tones a lot.

Steve Vai called Tosin's band "Animals as leaders" the future of instrumental music...
8 strings...don't know man...can't even handle 6 strings correctly :-)

I don't think I can handle an 8 stringer either but playing bass and guitar parts are what I like to do.

I'd need to look like an octopus to manage 8 strings! I'd dig playing some Meshuggah songs, but I'll need a big boost in talent first.
If I were to consider such a beast, I'd keep the price down and try one from Rondo Music.

Funky. I just read about Abasi in Premiere Guitar. So now I know what he does, pretty impressive!

I got the "Animals as Leaders" album about a month ago after seeing that youtube video. They album is very good.
I've been lusting after one of these for a while now:

I saw him maybe 5 years ago when Kaki King opened for him around here. I thought it would be really cool, and the bass/guitar combo was pretty neat, but the actual playing didn't grab me much. I think it's probably just not my kind of music.

To each their own. I saw him in 2004 and I found his playing awe-inspiring.
