'cause it's just another ridiculous new Gibson product. Well in fact it's just another Explorer, but paint the dots red, change the tip switch against a red tip and give it a scary name and you have the new Vampire Blood Moon guitar.

I am scared - but not of this guitar - but of the dumb product marketing of such a traditional company.

Sheeeesh, isn't this just a slightly altered tremolo version of the Voodoo Explorer?

Also, Schecter has had a "Blood Moon" named model out for a few years...

I agree, the red inlays are goofy, and "Vampire?" Srsly, Gibson?

Get rid of the inlays and red logo, put on a blank ebony board, and Gibby would have a cool, metal oriented guitar.

Somebody in the marketing department has been watching "Twilight" movies.

Or trying to appeal to the emo/goth kids that like that sh*t.

Yeah, the whole vampire thing is really played out. I read Publisher's Weekly as part of my job and there are 3-4 books published a month that are about vampires or have vampires as their main characters. Enough already.

I will admit to having seen the first Twilight movie, which was terrible, but kind of funny in a trainwreck/campy sort of way. I saw the next one, too. Big mistake. That was the most excruciating two hours of my life.

What's up with Gibson? It seems as though they are on the trailing edge. That is when they are not making complete blunders. :thwap

Funny, for the last few years the number one most for sale guitars in Craig'sList (by me at least) are Epiphone Goth guitars (LP's, Explorers, SG's).
