Hi folks,

We're still in the middle of our cover album project (though we do have a new original about to be finished too) and the next one ready for public critique is "Balls to the Wall" by Accept. This is metal classic that proved a little more challenging than we first expected, I think.

DeeAa (long time forum member) does a great job on extremely challenging vocals and we borrowed a Russian Marching Choir for backing vocals. :)

Check it out here if you'd like... we'd love to hear your thoughts. As always, thanks for your time!

Let me be the first to comment:

:applause :dude :beavisnbutthead:

I'm and 80s metal kind of guy and I've always liked that song. In fact, it is my wife's favorite metal song (even thought she isn't a metal head.)

Edit: Besides. Udo Dirkschneider has the coolest name in metal. His name just screams metal.

Good job. It's a good cover without being a slavish copy.

Thanks! I thought we were able to be faithful to the original while still allowing our own styles to come through. It's good to hear you say that.

Lots of vocal tracks on this one to get that 'choir' effect on the backing vox. About 12 vocal tracks I believe.

And for those that don't know, Project-43 is an 'Internet Band'. All the parts were recordied at each musician's location then sent to me for final mixing.

And yes... no dbout about it. If you like 80's metal, this one almost always has to be a favorite. :)

Thanks for listening and commenting. It's appreciated!

And he fits in your pocket!

That is a difficult song to cover just because it's hard to top Udo and that song is an Udo tour de force. I probably would prefer somewhat growlier (not necessarily metalcore) vocals. I don't know if deeaa's vocals were eq'd or not but maybe just adding a bit more low end would do the trick. I don't know; I'm not a mixing specialist.

I like in nevertheless! :DR

Thank, marnold. I'm going to be looking at the vocals to see if I can separate them a bit more from the mix. There is some EQ adjustments already, but I'll take a look at what can be done.
