Keith Moon? Stevie Ray? Randy Rhoads? Keef (I think he qualifies)?

Tell us who, and if you'd like to, explain why. And.....Go!

Probably John Entwistle.

A great bass player and decent sort of person. It would be nice to ask how he approached his playing and some of his touring stories. Oh, and his bass collection....

Jaco would be interesting, but maybe a bit too interesting at that.

Tie between Duane Allman and SRV. Reason? Unless you haven't heard them play, this should be obvious!! Two all-time great guitarists who died way too young.

It would be George Harrison or John Lennon , I would like to talk with them about some chords and songwriting.

Miles Davis. Miles inspires me as a player, composer and band-leader.

Joe Strummer.

So I could write some more of his songs.

Sean, Keef will never die. He permanently pickled himself somewhere around 1974.

I'd love to talk with Danny Gatton.

When I read channel, I think "play through me", there's lots I'd want to talk with, pick their brains, study with. But if I could channel, it'd be Freddie King. Love his tone, his licks, and the way he sang, full tilt at all times. I sing more than play when I perform live, so that's a key consideration for me.

Can't top this. just can't. Listen to this man lay it out

a VERY VERY close 2nd would be Lowell George.

James Marshall H. would be my choice. Although George Harrison made me laugh too. I like a good laugh as well as great musicianship. A close third would be Mozart.

Hmm...maybe Elliott Smith or Freddie Mercury? I think it'd be pretty sweet to be able to sing like Freddie.

Guitar-wise, one of those dead shredders like Rhoads or Paul Gilbert, whenever he dies. I might be waiting a long time.

Nice one. Did he have any riffs that aren't classics?

A musician from our current era for me would be Kevin Gilbert. From an earlier era it would be Mozart. Both of those guys were really good.

You guys are probably going to hate on me here, but I would give one of my kidneys and both of yours to talk to Kurt Cobain or Hendrix for a couple of hours.

Currently, I'd chose Rimsky Korsakov, so that guy could explain me classical orchestration.

My favourite all time choice would be a guy that went by the name of Jimi Hendrix. Do I have to explain why? I don't, do I?!

Jimi's followed by Robert Johnson and Django Reinhardt.

Exactly........:thwap

Seriously.....there are too many good ones to choose one.

Roy Buchanan, Danny Gatton, SRV, Hendrix, and a guy named Jimmy Bryant would all be high on the list for me.

Heh heh...I saw that, but figured I'd let someone else be the finger pointer. You have to bear in mind that Kat can get distracted pretty easily, seeing as all his brain power is being used to study these days. That, and he's busy exposing himself...to new things.

Been messin' up a lot lately. Sorry fellas. I'll be sure to read ALL the posts before responding.

Charlie Parker and Billy Pigg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Pigg) but I suspect Richard Thompson has beaten me to it :(

He was magic on every tune he played!
