Kind of sad, really. I used to stay up late to watch Rock Concert as a kid. Loved it. Was the first time I saw Kiss! RIP Don!

Man, I hate that. When I was a teenager (before I got my license that is.... lol), I used to stay up on Friday nights watching "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert". Not only KISS, but it was the first time I ever saw Black Sabbath. I was HOOKED! He contributed a LOT to rock and roll in many ways. He will be missed.

One of the most influential men in music. His legacy is impressive. R.I.P.

Tho he probably couldn't stand most of the talent he promoted, especially on Rock Concert, he made that show a real success by listening to what the kids wanted. That's how Black Sabbath finally got on there. He asked, and the overwhelming response to 'who do you want to see the most?' was Ozzy, Geezer, Tony, and Bill. Those were the days when kids really knew how to rock and knew what bands delivered the goods.
Thanx, Don!
