While he's a great guitarist, his music relies HEAVILY on songwriting, lyrics, and arrangement. What you hear when you listen to his stuff is texture, emotion, not so much killer licks. Although his Dolly Varden stuff has some rockers, lots of lap steel etc.

Nice to see a guy from Hailey doing well! I have not personally met or seen Mr. Dawson. We moved here after he was already in Chicago. I am not sure if he has come around here much in the last several years, but will watch for him if he comes around again.
