Gold Supporters can now post articles on this site as well. There are 2 categories - News and Reviews.

Let me know if you think we need more categories. You can also promote a forum post to an article, but please only do so if it really is worthwhile doing. We don't want to clog up the article section with forum posts, so... make good judgments.

Also, I trust the Gold Supporters will use this privilege wisely. Anything remotely inappropriate will have consequences for the person posting it.

I am hoping this can be a good way to keep this site current and I get some help with creating content. I need help! I don't have that much time these days.

Cool! I posted my old Hagstrom review as an article to try it out. A nice feature. :AOK

What in your mind makes a post worth being an article instead of a forum post? I could see things such as reviews, and perhaps a lesson or tutorial. But most things would seem to be fine in the forum with discussion therein.

Good question, Steve. The homepage of thefret is now more than just the forum, so things we want to highlight could be made into an article. Anything goes. Could be a very useful lesson on scales, for example, or an article about music or artists worth checking out.

The main thought from my perspective would be to keep the home page interesting and attractive with fresh articles, reviews, tutorials, lessons, etc.

Does this make sense?

Sure. I would guess most of my posts are intended for discussion so would be forum based, but sometimes it would not hurt to call attention to something with an article.
