Agents of Mercy - The new band formation of Transatlantic, The Flower Kings, (ex)Kaipa & Tangent guitarist Roine Stolt has spent last week laying down basic tracks for a new album (yet unnamed) in the fashionable Fenix Studios in Sweden’s countryside.

Eleven tracks penned by Stolt and leadvocalist Nad Sylvan materialized with the turbocharged solid rhythm section of Jonas Reingold, Walle Wahlgren and monstrer keyboardwiz Lalle Larsson. The band once again tracked “old school” – meaning ALL musicians were in the room playing for real into a 24 track tape machine, without ANY click tracks safetynets or tempo restriction, hunting for that warm 70′s sound and bring real music alive again. Work will proceed during May-June& July for a late August release - album is said to be both classic prog but leaning to “symphonic glam” and equal parts of Zeppelinesque folksy metal, Hot Rats period Zappa and west end drama as well.

Coming up first though - the band will load the Mellotrons, Harpsichords and kettledrums to sail the oceans to the new world, America, for a handful shows starting May 16th in Milwaukee and ending on May 22nd in Quebec City. European dates will follow from late August.

AGENTS OF MERCY team up with young sensational American art proggers DISTRICT 97 for a double bill. District 97 has an “American Idol” finalist Leslie Hunt fronting, but don’t let that fool you – we’re closer to Zappa, Bruford, The Cardiacs and UK here, but with fabulous professional and hi-energy vocals.
