I'm really surprised by that. That's a color combo that they tended to keep away from the low end.

Exactly! I'll bet anything that those are going to be hard to come by because EVERYONE will want one.

Too much woodgrain for me. I like the original CV50s color the best.

Finally! I've been wishing for a butterscotch CV 50's Tele. I see they are using the AlNiCo 5 pickups.

Damn you Spudman: I thought I had bought my last guitar. When I was looking for a tele you could not get this neck radius with this color combo. Also it has brass saddles and will be a killer instrument. I guess I will have to put one on order now. As you mentioned they will be hard to get.

I'm kind of with Dan on this one, too much woodgrain showing through. I love the butterscotch finish, I just wish this one had a bit more butter in the scotch. Still, not a bad looking twanger. I wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating crackers.

I don't mind the grain showing through with butterscotch, as long as the grain itself is attractive. I've never been a fan of the white CV 50's look for some reason. I'd rather it be solid white.

Logan Customs all show the grain...

Certainly a logical addition to a "Classic Vibe" lineup, because what's more classic than the butterscotch & black combo on a Tele? And all they had to do was change the finish on the original CV '50s to a clearcoat and swap in alnico 5 pickups for the alnico 3's. Brilliant....

I haven't been able to find a Street price on the CV yet but this is the big brother, And you can't get a 9.5 radius on them.
This is the "classic" tele .

Dang it! Just after I got my sunburst too. I love my sunburst, but that color combo with the Springsteen look was my absolute favorite. I probably will stick with what I have though. I love it a lot as well.

EDIT: my tele's going nowhere. I just got done playing it and love the darned thing.

This one looks cool, but I love what I got.

WOW, that is a nice AXE and a color I like one heck of a lot. Logan custom guitars might have to be moved back a little on the gas list because the street price on that AXE will be very nice.

They've started using the BSB color on the Fender MIM Standard, as an FSR model... I think this was a good move for Squier. Diggin' the grain, and the color, too! I agree that they're gonna be hard to find in a hurry once they hit the stores.

I read somewhere on the intarwebz that they're coming out with a Fiesta Red CV 50s Strat as well... Flippin' GAS!

And here it is! DROOOOOOOL. http://www.squierguitars.com/products/search.php?partno=0303000540 Stick a DiMarzio rail pup in the bridge, and you would have a poor man's Vintage Hot Rod for hundreds less than the MIA version.

Originally it would have been no contest for me - I'd have gone for the butterscotch - EXCEPT - that I have actually grown to love the Blond/showthru grain, and I prefer the alnico III's.

@BK, Show off. :D

Yeah, I was concerned initially when I saw this thing, as I love that Butterscotch Black PG look. But I really like my alder body and think I would prefer it to the pine.

I think that's the "catch" Fender wanted to include to keep it different from other BSB models with the same blackguard look, which might have the more traditional alder or (in my case) ash body.

Pinecasters are getting to be all the rage these days, so it's not a bad decision, while still making the MIMs and MIAs legitimate upgrade paths. It'd be nice if pine could be used for guitars more readily. We're stupid with it in the U.S. and it grows relatively quickly.

Dead-on on all points, Rev.

Also, very importantly, that pinecaster sounds real good. To many ears, way better than a lot of other choices one could make, including a lot of way more expensive guitars.
