Here's a pic I just took of my electric guitar family. They are all inexpensive, but they all play very nice, sound good, and look great.

The "#8" thing comes from another forum...A way of referring to cheaper guitars...Long story.

Very nice Kerc.
I noticed that you have so many guitars now that they are all outside. You should try building a new wing onto the house for them. That way the weather wont get to them.:D

I like the Danno's. Tres' cool.

I like all of them, but that blue pick on the '51 just sets it off so nicely...yummy!
But then again, that maple neck on that Tele. OOhhh.
And that finish on the convertible...WOW!
Aww, heck, I like 'em all.:D

Well, if you insist. I posted this in my Squier '51 thread too. Here's my gang of three. From left to right: 2006 Squier '51, 2004 Fender Showmaster Celtic H, 1988ish Charvel Model 7. All I need is a nice bass to add to this. Don't tell my wife I typed that :)

Thanks for the comments! :D

Sunvalleylaw: The Washburn LT2 has a mahogany body, and a bolt-on maple neck with rosewood fretboard. Its scale length is like a Gibson, and the compact body design makes it look tiny against other guitars, but it's really comfy to play. I am/was planning to turn it into a pseudo Gretsch Corvetter with some GFS pups, but I think I might just sell it. It plays very nice, though.

Spudman: Hahahaah, I catually have a hobby/storage room where they usually reside, and keep a coupleof them in stands in the living room (blessed be my wife)...

DVM: Danos are great lil machines. That Convertible is an original 1960's axe...And sounds louder and resonates way better than many modern thin acoustics I've tried!

Iago
November 19th, 2006, 11:30 AM
Kerc that convertible is a really cool axe... and the pluggled sound? what do you think about it? is it just like a U2 or a DC?

Seriously, it looks like you may be resizing those photos to the wrong aspect ratio. They're currently posted as 512x482. Try saving them at 480 x 640. Here's the Daphne Blue Squier Strat at that aspect ratio:

Vood, those gitfiddles are *ACTUAL SIZE!* You just lay'em in your palm & fret with your thumb n' first three fingers and strum with your pinky.

Spudman, there's a term for people with compulsions like that! As I'm far too much of a gentleman to actually spell it out, let's just say that it rhymes with "Gear Chore"....:D

Actually, I'm just jealous. I'd like to be that much of a "Gear Chore" myself, but that would be like planting an IED in my marriage (only LOUDER!). After all, that's more guitars that my wife has in shoes, which is saying a lot!

Hard cases for many of them, soft cases for the rest. Those I store in the Guest wing of Spud Estates.

Otherwise, an acoustic hangs near the couch, in the bedroom and studio/office. The other solid bodies are on hangers around the house. 7 more hang in the studio, 6 more on stands. 4 on the wall in the living room, 2 on stands, another 2 in soft cases near by. And no, there aren't any in the bathrooms.

Marnold, that Celtic looks fantastic. I really love that color! I bet it plays like a dream too.
I'll tell you this much, it kicks the butt of any other guitar I've ever played. After playing my Floyd so much lately, I picked up the Celtic today. The pickup has tons more cajones than the Floyd's. It's a Fender Atomic II, FWIW. It's got a set neck that is almost Ibanez thin with a 15 3/4" radius fretboard. It's as light as a feather but with the set neck and fixed bridge, it sustains forever. With only the bridge 'bucker it's kind of limited tonally, although I put in a coil cut push/pull pot. If I could have gotten the HH version it would be perfect. I've toyed with the idea of having a neck 'bucker installed, but I'm really afraid I'd end up wrecking it.

The kicker is that while the original list was $899 and MF was selling them for $629 like the Showmasters on their site now, I got it when they were blowing them out for $249. My only gripe with it is that the "smoked chrome" bridge looks bad now and I can't seem to clean it up. Nevertheless, it functions just fine.

Re: the Lynch doll, yeah, I've seen those. I thought they were pretty corny. I wouldn't mind the J. Frog skull guitar though :)
