Acoustic artists don't get a lot of love on this forum, thought I'd shine a light on someone who's been a huge influence on me and my home for a couple decades. His name is Willy Porter. If you were to ask my kids what one artist or sound they most associate with me, this would likely be a/the name they mention. I've mentioned him occasionally on the forum in other discussions.
First learned about this guy with a rockin' FM radio hit "Angry Words" in 91 or so, and have seen him probably 15 times since then. He's from just up the road in Milwaukee, and often plays a roadhouse, Fitzgeralds, in Berwyn Il, that is literally walking distance for me. I not THAT psycho.
Just stumbled across this. This is kind of a cheesy context, but it showcases both his skill and his songwriting, which, in my opinion, are both exceptional. This is a routine number, technically, you should see when he decides to show off (which I haven't seen from him for years now, but there was a time...)
