Wondering if anyone here can speak to the use of wireless vocal mics. I'm very familiar with the robust Shure SM58 as a vocal mic.

I've got a line on a Shure wireless transmitter and a Shure wireless 58 and or BG 3.1 mic.

Questions are....do these work reliably? In a small open mic setting, do peoples cell phones or passing vehicle electronics mess with them?

How about for home recording?

Please chime in even if your experience is with another brand.

thanks for the feedback...

I haven't tried the Shure wireless stuff, but they make good gear so if the price isn't too low ( :) ) it's probably good.

I use Sennheiser wireless gear for my video camera, and it's great. So is the Sony wireless stuff.

Stay AWAY from Sampson - the stuff I bought was a piece of complete garbage.

I've had no problems with my lower-end Shure wireless set, but it eats 9V batteries like a slot machine coins. I use two rechargeable batteries and that works well, one battery works a few hours...but regular 9V's can only work for an hour or so.
