Our little trio, FATBACK, had it's first gig back in January. We've been having a ball ever since. A few weekends ago we played at a big outdoor picnic that's an annual event put on by our local Blues Society chapter. Just a great day with an acoustic stage and a main stage alternating. $20 for all the food and beer you could handle, or not ~~~ LOL. Last weekend we played at the Dauphin County Wine and Music Festival. There was a good turnout, guesstimates were 1600-2000 people. We were one of three bands that played the 'side stage' and three others played the main stage. Kenny Neal was the headliner. We held our own and did pretty well, getting lots of nice comments from folks. I feel like we're earning our stripes and hoping that we start working our way up the ladder to get better time slots at this type of gig.
Tomorrow we'll be playing at another big outdoor event, and then our favorite little bar next weekend. Damn, I love to play :p

Great gig, Bob! This sounds like the perfect outdoor event I'd like to go to. We only have giant rock-a-palooza type outdoor events here, which are far too crowded for me.

Give that guitar all the face it can handle! Nothing beats being connected to the music. I'll take that over a dead fish musician any day.
(I remember watching the Talking Heads play live, which is more like dead)

Great that you're getting to play so much. I wish I had opportunities like that.
