Succumbed to GAS. Brought home a brand new Warwick Corvette Standard Active J/J. Man this thing is killer! No time for pictures... back to playing. Just thought you'd like to know :dance

Cool! The Warwick's body shape is very similar to the Spector NS shape, which I've always liked.

Oops... it isn't the Corvette Standard model. It is actually the Rock Bass Corvette Basic (Made in China). From what I can tell, the country of origin is the only major difference. My local music store had this one and a Made in Korea Corvette in bubinga and I A/B'd them. Not a whole lot of difference IMHO (other than Korean bubinga = double the price). The bubinga body did add a certain dimension of warmth to the tone. My research indicates that these use the same pickups, electronics and hardware as the Made in Germany models. I gather that the Rock Bass brand may have been more of a compromise in the past but recently the Made in China Warwicks have really stepped up in build quality. I can certainly vouch for that!

Pictures will follow when I get a chance, I promise. In the meantime, specs follow

Oh very good score!

I used to have a German-made bubinga corvette standard active. It sounded sooo nice, but was way too heavy for me.

I think it weighed around 14 lb. or so. I traded it for a Lakland jazz bass.

With the alder body, that one should be much more comfortable.

How's the neck?? Is it p-bass baseball bat like?

I'll try to get some pictures up today, progrmr. The neck is quite thin and very fast - more like a J-bass which is good because I don't have real big hands. It's very comfortable for me. The tone with the active J/J p'ups is very "snappy" and clear. I sometimes miss a bit of the growl, but I can get that with the humbucker in my Westone. :rockya

Nice pics!!

Surprised about the neck - every Warwick I've played has had the biggest baseball bat necks. Couldn't stand 'em - but a jazzy neck...that I could do.
