I really like both of these amps, but I'm just accumulating too much gear and I have an opportunity to consolidate. I'm planning to sell my Egnater Rebel 20 head (http://www.thefret.net/showthread.php/10062) and my Mesa Transatlantic TA-15 (http://www.thefret.net/showthread.php/16287) and put the proceeds toward a new Mesa Transatlantic TA-30 head (http://www.mesaboogie.com/Product_Info/Transatlantic/transatlantic-TA-30.html). The TA-15 has a fantastic array of switchable tones and three power level settings (5, 15 and 25W), but lacks reverb and an effects loop. The Rebel 20 sounds great, too, has continuous power scaling (1 - 20W), output tube blending capability (EL84's and 6V6's) and has the effects loop the Mesa lacks. But the new TA-30 offers all of the TA-15's operating modes and throws in reverb and an effects loop. Hence, I can get all of the features I want in a single head, and free up some much needed space in the "man cave" where I play.
Both of these amps have been extremely well cared for--low operating hours, played only at low to medium output volumes (I've never "dimed" either one--it would blow my ears out in my 12' x 12' playing space!), and have not left my smoke-free home. I know that the phrase "next to new" is overused, but it absolutely accurate here. I purchased the Rebel 20 in early 2009 from a guy who bought it online because he couldn't find one locally, but decided that it wasn't what he was looking for and sold it after just a few days. The Transatlantic I bought new last September, so its not even a year old. MAKE NO MISTAKE--there is nothing wrong with either amp, and I like them both very much. But I can do a 2-for-1 consolidation, and I need the room!
I'm in no big rush, so I thought I would offer them here initially, and move on to eBay if I don't get any interest. Pricing is as follows:
Egnater Rebel 20W Head : Sells new for $549, offered at $375
Mesa Transatlantic TA-15 Head: Sells new for $900, offered at $675
Shipping will be extra, but I'll only charge you exactly what it costs to ship, no padding or "handling" fee! Neither amp is very heavy, so shipping cost should be pretty reasonable. US & Canada destinations only!
PM me if interested in either one....
