Interesting and quite sad that after all the years these guys spent together they seem not to respect one another very much.

I can't imagine Yes without Anderson, even if the new guy sounds like a young Anderson (I've yet to listen to the new tune). Seems to me like they're now a Yes tribute band that has a few members of Yes in it. I'm sure their shows are still awesome, but not quite Yes.

Glad I got to see them back in 90/91 when they toured all together again. That remains one of the best musical shows I've ever seen.

They've had their share of turnovers, but Jon is/was one of the cornerstones. I have fond memories watching Yessongs at the midnight movie in high school. Never got to see them play live.

Seriously -- Yes is more of a concept than it is a group of guys. Jon Anderson was the guy I always associated with them, but after reading the article, I think it's almost understandable. It seems like he's in no shape to be touring as much as everybody else wants to, and I didn't get the sense that he was going to step down either.

Still, too bad that it had to end up being kind of contentious.

It seems like he's in no shape to be touring as much as everybody else wants to, and I didn't get the sense that he was going to step down either.

Not sure I agree entirely, though I understand your point.
Like I said, I'm sure they still sound great, though to me, they aren't really Yes anymore, much like Queen + Paul Rodgers can call themselves whatever they want, but minus the iconic singer, they ain't Queen.

Yes, I was referring to the 'concept' concept.
I'm sure many see it that way and probably enjoy the shows/recordings as much regardless of who's in the band at any particular time. More power to them.

Well, at least they still have the original bass player...

A cast of characters revolving around one bass player seems more than a bit odd to me although he's one hell of a player. (Chris Squire, that is)

I'm really out of the loop on what sort of music that they're making lately. I should really catch up before I can form an opinion about Anderson's ouster.
