I noticed today that words like "USB drive" and "PS3" were suddenly turning into links for eBay. I did a little investigating and it seems like Javascript from skimresources.com is adding those links. I find it rather annoying. It's hard to tell if the author intended a link or if it was added. For now, I'm filtering them via Adblock. I don't block ads here as a general rule.

I've noticed the same thing, particularly since you mentioned it in another thread. I should see if it shows up when using Firefox with noscript.

That has been added as a way to generate more revenue for the forum. I hope it's not too annoying for you guys.

My initial reaction is, yes, I'm finding it annoying. When someone posts a link, it is something important. Additional spurious links makes it difficult to tell what is important and what isn't. That's my two cents anyway.
