Helliott recently did a great slide jam on the Home Recording. The discussion turned to slide muting and specifically, muting with the right hand. I mentioned a couple of vids and found the links:

David Hamburger instructional: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgSNPm7aycw

Kirk Lorange; not an instructional but great for techinique viewing. Click on the link, then click on Watch Some Videos; especially the 5:36 Electric Slide Guitar one: http://www.bottleneckguitar.com/

Sonny Landreth. At the 1:00 mark, close-ups of his picking hand are shown for 5 minutes. Amazing:

I wish I could do that finger picking...I've seen some guys playing a strat and with the finger picking technique getting some great sounds. I'm pretty sure this is a big part of the The Michael Willams Band sound - finger style distorted strat and slide.

Freakin' 100% awesome playing in that sonny Landreth video too.
