Tommy Funderburk, know his name? A man with a huge voice.

"What If" was the name of this little AOR group. Don't think they had much success but they were good.

Michael Landau and Dan Huff on guitars.

I was into this style of music a lot in the mid 80s.

I'm not familiar with the names. I guess I can't respond, but will dig back in history just for fun to my post-punk days.

1987 for me included, but not limited to...
U2 - The Joshua Tree
Anthrax - Among The Living
The Cult - Electric
Concrete Blonde - Concrete Blonde
Judas Priest - Priest...Live!
Sonic Youth - Sister
Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction
Jane's Addiction - Jane's Addiction
R.E.M. - Document
Depeche Mode - Music for the Masses
Stanley Clarke - If This Bass Could Only Talk
Brian Ferry - BĂȘte Noire
Los Lobos - By the Light of the Moon

Dan Huff is bad a**. It definitely has that late 80s pop production sound to it.

This was 87 for me

I also really loved this Yes album - Big Generator. I like Trevor Rabin did for guitar and song writing in this band.

Too funny. Big Generator was the first CD I got when I purchased my home stereo in 1987. I got a gift certificate to the record store when I bought the system. I played the heck out of that record. I guess I sort of burnt out on it. One of these days I'll dig it back out. I really like "Love Will Find A Way."
