Steve Hogarth (Marillion) and Richard Barbieri (Porcupine Tree) have collaborated on an album finally. Richard is best known as pioneering synth sounds in the band Japan and has long been a member of Porcupine Tree.
This is not a feel good happy sounding album although there is at least one tune that sounds more upbeat than the others. It's more of a thoughtful, gradually unfolding and sonically diverse record that will take several listens to really get what it's about. Both players are experienced with material that gradually unfolds from their work in their respective bands. Richard's synths are mysterious and textural as always.
