No details on how and where yet.

While the style of her music wasn't my thing, her voice was among the best ever back before the Bobby Brown drug days.

I'm surprised, but then again not. The rumblings of substance abuse have been swirling around her for a long time. She could out-sing any of the so-called divas.

Very, very sad. I agree with Marnold wholeheartedly.

The last I heard of her she was cleaning herself up. I remember seeing her on MTV (when they still played music) and thought how beautiful and talented she was. Such is the price of drugs. RIP.

Arguably one of the best pop music vocal talents ever. RIP.

I hadn't thought about her in years. But I sure enjoyed her voice back in the day, though it was not my favorite style. Hard to argue with the talent.

Had to cut this post in two for some reason. It did not like the post having two vids this time.

I am kind of amazed how much this saddens me. Like I said, I had not thought about her in years, since some of the Bobby Brown news. She was about my age (year behind in me in school years), and though her pop diva music was not at all my style, her voice convinced me to buy her first CD.

On that first album, she did a cover of a tune that I found inspirational as a teen (George Benson version) finding my place in the world. Given what happened to her life, I find the video for the song quite sad. She apparently forgot the message of the song. But it is a beautiful cover.

Rest in peace. I hope her memory serves as a cautionary, and yet inspirational tale. I also hope it reminds current pop divas and their fans what real singing sounds like.

I just hate that she has a family and children who's worlds have been turned upside down. Other than that, that's what you get when you become a "rockstar" and live a life of substance abuse...correct me if I'm wrong. Not trying to be cold hearted.
