The plastic shade on my floor lamp has gotten so old and brittle that it broke at the slightest touch. I thought it's time to replace the lamp but wait, it's still working so I had an idea. :dance

Doesn't look redneck to me... is that more confirmation of my red neck or less? ;-) Is that margarita mix?

It's a ice cream bucket. Has a good glow and everything, better than the original shade.

Not only is that cheaper than a store bought lamp shade, you can also catch a whole lot more crispy flys in it. Good snackin'.

That's some Texas ingenuity right there! Good thinkin'!
You are a being a bit to high class, though. My people would have used a generic Cool Whip bowl. ;)

My people woulda' used an old Crisco tub to give those flies that crispy, golden brown fry. :drool
Speaking of lamps, Mrs. T bought this birdcage chandelier off eBay. It was a pain to hang since the ceiling plate made it hard to wire.
