I'm building a Bassman inspired build based on the 5E3 PCB from ppwatt.com. Schematic, Layout, and other discussion of this build are at: http://www.45watt.com/node/15473#comment-146527

This build is based on 2 6v6 tubes, and there is some departure from teh 5F6A circuit. I put together a Mouser order. Please note that there's enough of each part for 2 builds:

Choke, Mosfets, Resistors, electrolytics, mica caps, power plug, fuseholder, switches, pilot lamps, pcb standoffs and screws, and OT blade connectors are saved to Mouser order:

Or enter this code in your project page: 5167372296

I ordered the coupling caps, pots, tag strips, tubes, and tube sockets from AES (and a gallon of "Tolex Glue") AES also sells a plug with a fuseholer, part #: P-SP2-500 . I didn't see that when I made my order so I ordered a separate plug and fuse holder from Mouser. Again, I ordered enough parts for 2 of these builds, but this parts list should help.

Note that the schematic recommends 8k primary impedance on the OT, but the one I ordered is 6.6k. Not sure what the implications of this will be yet.

I started this build over the weekend. My wife is mocking up a 16 x 2 layout for my faceplate before I can drill the front holes. Mouser didn't have any steel 16x8x2 chassis boxes, so I ordered 2 aluminum ones. In drilling holes last night, the aluminum was so freakin' nice and easy. Now I wonder why most people use steel boxes. Any thoughts? Also, the water-based Tolex Glue from AES is awesome. It's contact cement, works awesome, and cleans up with water. Love it.

Some of the holes are done, and deburred. I will mount the tube sockets in the PCB, then do a final fitting before I drill the holes for the PCB standoffs.

My head cab is a little oversized. I glued it up wrong, so it added about 1.5 inches in the length of it, but it should still work. This amp will be installed "tubes up". The AES tolex glue was a pleasure to work with, compared to the hide glue/spray77/ high VOC contact cement I've tried in the past. No clue on what is in the AES glue though, as there is no label on it.

More to come, soon.

Looks good so far. I do like a bit of rough. Err, brown tolex that is :).

I'd think that glue would be some sort of PVA formula. It works for bookbinders glueing leather and vinyl to boards so why not tolex to amps? Heat shouldn't be an issue.
